It’s no shock that the holidays can be stressful but this year, there is definitely added anxiety and panic thanks to the current COVID-19 pandemic meaning we’re not able to get together with our extended families. Times may be tough but bit by bit, we’re getting through it and fingers crossed for even more joyful holiday gatherings next year.
If you’re getting the Christmas party started a bit earlier than years past, join the club because if anything’s better than Christmas — it’s Christmas cocktails which is why we’re cheers-ing you with these four.
La Guapa Manzana
1.5oz Casamigos Mezcal Joven
0.5 oz Grand Marnier
0.5 oz agave nectar
1 oz pear nectar
1 oz lime juice
Apple slices for garnish
Rim your glass with Tajin, shake and pour with shaken ice into your margarita glass of choice. Grate a little nutmeg on top and garnish with apple slices.
Our Crooked Hearts
1oz Single Malt Scotch
0.5oz Disaronno Amaretto
1 shot of Nespresso Kazaar, or espresso
0.25oz simple syrup
Pinch of rock salt
Shake and strain everything into a Nick and Nora glass and finish with a grating of nutmeg and cinnamon on top.
1.25oz Volcan Blanco Tequila
0.25oz Amaro Nonino
0.5oz Cinnamon + Ginger Syrup
4oz coconut milk
Cinnamon ginger syrup:
Combine 1:1 simple syrup simmered with 25g peeled ginger and 4 cinnamon cloves per litre. Let sit to cool for 90 minutes and strain.
Mix all ingredients together, can be served heated or shaken and served cold. Take it even further and top with chocolate whip!
My Girl Clementine
1 oz Vodka
0.25 oz Maraschino Liqueur
Juice of half a clementine or tangerine
Splash of lemon juice
0.5oz vanilla syrup, two vanilla bean pods simmered with 1:1 simple syrup. Cool for 90 minutes and strain.
1 egg white
Dry shake and then wet shake, strain into a coupe or low glass and garnish with maraschino cherries and an orange peel.
