Most of the country’s patios and bars are still closed, but who says you can’t bring that vibe into your own home? When I think of the Victoria long weekend, I remember barbecues, drinks, fireworks, good music and bonfires. That day will soon come but for now, I promise this can all be recreated for us wanderers! So move on over to the grocery store and pick up your favourite food and drinks to celebrate with the people you love!

Grill It Up!
When there’s good food, there’s always a good time. This weekend calls for grilling! If you want to stick to the traditional hamburgers and hotdogs that completely fine, but there so much more you can do with the barbecue! From sides, to meat and even pizza, spice up your creativity and explore all the grilling possibilities.
Grilled Veggies
By far my favourite side when it comes to barbecuing! It’s such an easy and delicious dish, especially if your kids are fussy when it comes to their veggies. I like to use red, yellow and orange peppers, onions, mushrooms and asparagus. I season with lots of oregano, salt, pepper, garlic power and oil olive. For the best tasting veggies, you’ll need to use a grilling basket and this is the one I recommend.
Margarita Grilled Shrimp Skewers
Grilled shrimp is a game changer and if you haven’t tried it, this is a good recipe to start with! You’ll need wooden or metal skewers, jumbo shrimp, peeled and divined, limes, jalapeños and a couple everyday seasonings!
Grilled Pizza
I tried this recipe a couple of weeks ago and it’s to die for! The smokey taste left on the pizza will have you never making pizza in the oven again.
Get Your Drink On
Sometimes less is more and you can’t go wrong with either of these Seltzers!
White Claw Hard Seltzer Black Cherry
Collective Arts Rhubarb Pink Gin & Soda with Raspberry & Bitter Orange
Nutrl Vodka Soda Grapefruit

Create The Vibe
You’d be surprised at what some decor could do to add to your outdoor space! Simple things like adding lights along your balcony or fence, setting up an outdoor dinning space and creating a playlist on your favourite speaker will call in all the long weekend vibes!
