If you’re someone who spends most of their spare time cooking in the kitchen, it’s likely that you have a favourite frying pan, favourite spatula, favourite knife, etc. These kitchen items become our go-to time and time again and although we have loads of pans, spatulas and knives, we tend to only reach for our faves. I certainly have my own set of favourites in the kitchen and anything new that would come in would yes, be exciting, but pushed to the backburner. That is until I got my hands on the Our Place Always Pan.

If you aren’t familiar with Our Place, it’s a cookware and dinnerware brand that’s all about making cooking more approachable and less cluttered, thus keeping it simple because cooking really is simple when you get down to it. The pan replaces 8 cookware items so your dreams of keeping a minimal kitchen can be a reality. In addition to it being a one-pan wonder, it has an incredible non-stick surface that has to be seen to be believed. Honestly: you’ll hardly need any oil and your fried eggs will literally slide right out without any sticking. Pure kitchen magic if you ask me.
I had seen ads for the Always Pan on Instagram and friends of mine were sharing theirs on IG stories so I was hoping that I would love mine just as much. I opted for the pretty blue colour but you can choose from a variety of shades that suit your style and kitchen. When mine came in the mail, I jumped for joy and got cooking right away. Normally with non-stick cookware, it can be tricky to get a golden brown sear but not with this pan. It gave me beautiful colour on chicken, shrimp, and ground beef.
Inside the box, there was the pan (duh!), lid, spatula, and steamer basket. I’m thrilled to finally have a steamer basket that actually fits properly because I’m sick of having a wonky bamboo steamer that sways with the wind every time I attempt making dim sum. No more lop-sided dumplings for me!

If you know me, you know that I get very excited to cook and love the entire process. The only thing I hate about cooking is all the dishes you’re left with at the end. While the Our Place Always Pan doesn’t have a self-cleaning function, the simplicity of the cleanup makes it a close second. To clean it, all you have to do is wash with some soapy water and a soft sponge. If you think it sounds too good to be true, you’ll just have to see it for yourself to believe it. In preparation for this article, I let my Always Pan sit out all night after I made a batch of homemade baked beans. The sugar, tomato sauce, and cheese were all caked to the pan and it looked like a nightmare to clean. All I did was get some hot water going, soaped up a sponge and in just a few minutes it looked brand new again.
The only thing that irks me about this pan is that I wish it were bigger or came in different sizes. However, if that’s the “biggest” problem I have then it really isn’t a problem I suppose. I also find I don’t use the spatula too much either but again, it comes down to preference. Just make sure you don’t use a metal spatula as it’ll scratch the coating. All in all, in my personal opinion, the Our Place Always Pan is very much worth the hype. It works beautifully and with a quick wash, no one’s the wiser you were even in the kitchen in the first place.
