Burlington’s lively waterfront just got a new getaway spot, The Pearle Hotel & Spa, perfect for anyone looking to escape the city and bask in tranquil views of Lake Ontario. This 151-room elegant hotel emulates a modern lake house with dark accents and beautiful white oak paneling throughout. Located right off the boardwalk, the property is surrounded by entertainment for all occasions and seasons.
The Vibe at The Pearle Hotel & Spa
I recently had the opportunity to visit The Pearle Hotel & Spa which had a very warm, autumnal vibe throughout. It was a welcomed break from the usual busy weekend in the city.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet romantic getaway, a family vacation or a fun weekend trip with the squad, this urban retreat is worth checking out. The food is locally sourced, the spa is impressive, the gym is state-of-the-art, and the staff are welcoming.
The Rooms
The rooms are tastefully designed, celebrating our Canadian four seasons with varying wood paneling throughout. You can literally smell the cedar/oak throughout the property making you feel like you’re at the cottage. Oversized patios with unobstructed lakeviews are available in plenty of their rooms and suites.
Harmonious lighting throughout the room and I especially enjoyed the automatic floor lighting coming from the base of the bed (at night, it automatically illuminates the floor when your feet touch the ground). A very nice touch indeed.
A few notable mentions in the room also include a contemporary, yet spacious office desk, bright LED vanity mirrors (great for selfies), extremely comfortable, high-quality robes and the overall fixtures throughout give it a contemporary feel.
The Food & Drinks
The Pearle Hotel’s main restaurant, Isabelle, has an expansive lakeside terrace destined to be a summer hot spot. Much of their fare offerings are grown on Pearle Hospitality’s own farm located just 20 minutes away. I must admit, I was really excited to try the food. The menu, created by Chef Ben Heaton, embodies global cuisines with a real farm to table feel.
During the day, you can visit their quaint café, the Bread Bar, for breakfast or a light snack – because who doesn’t love a good café. The coffee is bold & delicious. I’m still craving the egg sandwich and freshly baked cookie I had there.
The Spa
The full-service spa has curated rejuvenating treatments equipped with a Hammam steam room and indoor swimming pool overlooking the lake. The Pearle Hotel is known for their spa experiences and it definitely shows. There is attention to detail throughout with extremely high-quality products being used.
I recommend you indulge in the Dramatic Healing Facial, but they have plenty of packages and hammam experiences available. Jinny, my esthetician, did a stellar job and took great care of me. I believe she mentioned that they even import their water for this facial so as to not compromise the ingredients and results.
The Space & Service
The hotel is also a great venue for weddings and executive retreats with over 10,000 sq ft. of event space, consisting of floor to ceiling windows displaying gorgeous lake views. The gym is well equipped with everything you need adjacent to the boardwalk as well as plenty of outdoor space to enjoy both sunset and sunrise strolls. The staff are helpful, warm and always seemed to go that extra mile to make sure the stay was enjoyable.
A Family Hotel: The Pearle Hotel & Spa
The Pearle Hotel and Spa is inspired by the Ciancone family matriarch, grandmother Pearle, whose work ethic and spirit of hospitality remain deeply admired by her family today. Elegant and free of formality, The Pearle Hotel and Spa embodies and honours the founders’ grandmother Pearle, reminiscent of the lake houses of the past where Pearle spent most of her summers.
