It all started when past Masterchef Canada contestant and enthusiastic foodie, Michael Motamedi, decided to leave his high paying job, sell everything and go travel the world with his wife and newborn daughter.
With his charismatic personality, thirst for adventure and love of food, Motamedi began sharing his travel experiences on TikTok. At first, he just wanted to document everything for memories, but before he knew it, the content resonated with fellow travel enthusiasts and his community began to grow rapidly.
The channel amassed a loyal following enamored by his journey and the comments began to pour in, with some even saying that he’s the new age Anthony Bourdain.
“Food has always been a passion of mine. I never set out to emulate his style. I’m just being me, but it’s a huge compliment. I can only hope to experience as many cultures as he did.”

“Anthony Bourdain is my hero. The impact he’s had on the world is far beyond anything I can do, but I would be lying if I didn’t say he influences my way of life. Says Motamedi. “Food has always been a passion of mine. I never set out to emulate his style. I’m just being me, but it’s a huge compliment. I can only hope to experience as many cultures as he did.”
Motamedi kicked off his journey with a trip to Colombia where he decided to embrace the culture in ways he’d never done before. He went inside kitchens of the city’s restaurants and got to know the local chefs. He ate snails with an eccentric Dutchman in the Algarve, had a Cretan feast with a family in Greece, and fileted a whole tuna that had just been caught off the coast of Italy with a local fisherman.
That’s when Eric Damier, the founder of EarthPix, (the largest travel community on social media) took notice and started following him. One thing led to another and a few short weeks later, NO FIXED ADDRESS was born – an original web series about travel, food and culture. “He has a way with getting the best out of people he interacts with almost as if it was pre-planned and not on the spot raw style content. It almost seems scripted and the best part is that its not.” Says Damier. “We’re going to take people for a ride like never before. People will be able to see every destination from a local’s point of view. From 5 star hotels and michelins star restaurants to the boutique hotel with 3 rooms owned by a local family.”
“The cool thing about NO FIXED ADDRESS is that every destination that I visit, I visit for long periods of time – usually for a month. This gives me an opportunity to really get to know the people and the cultures on a very deep level, and in ways that most travel shows cannot showcase.” continues Motamedi. “There’s no big crew, fancy equipment or intimidating producers to interfere with capturing the truly authentic experiences.”
As the great Anthony Bourdain once said: “Eat at a local restaurant tonight. Get the cream sauce. Have a cold pint at 4 o’clock in a mostly empty bar. Go somewhere you’ve never been. Listen to someone you think may have nothing in common with you. Order the steak rare. Eat an oyster. Have a negroni. Have two. Be open to a world where you may not understand or agree with the person next to you, but have a drink with them anyways. Eat slowly. Tip your server. Check in on your friends. Check in on yourself. Enjoy the ride.”
I definitely see the similarities, but most importantly, I think Bourdain would be proud that there are people like him living the philosophy that he set out to inspire in the world.
This Earthpix travel series is a non-scripted, un-filtered, shot and edited on iPhone and is set to air in November 2022 on all Michael’s socials, including TikTok, Instagram as well as Earthpix main IG channel – no geographical limitations.
