Bored of all the grab-and-go offerings at your local grocery store? Sick of there being no fresh sushi or decent Japanese food? Well not anymore. The first Aburi Groceraunt is now open in Vancouver’s Yaletown neighbourhood and yes, it’s just as exciting as it sounds!
Aburi To-Go is a specialty grocery store that offers customers an elevated, expertly curated selection of Japanese and West Coast cuisine. Folks can expect to get their hands on both ready-to-eat and ready-to-make options. This is the very first of its kind for the restaurant group Aburi Restaurants Canada and for its fans or anyone looking to try the elevated Japanese, it’s a welcome addition.

“Aburi To-Go by Minami pairs authentic Aburi trailblazing offerings with the ultimate grab-and-go and Japanese grocery convenience, making it the leading solution to any appetite or craving,” the website reads.
In addition to chef-made dishes, there are also house-made bottled condiments and grocery items, frozen offerings, family and individual meal kits, as well as snacks and beverages imported straight from Japan.
“Despite the challenges we’ve faced this past year, we continue to look and move forward by innovating and bringing new Aburi experiences to Canada,” explains Seigo Nakamura, Founder and CEO. “I am proud of my dedicated team for bringing our To-Go vision to life; a place for people to pick up their favourite Aburi meals, housemade desserts, one-of-a-kind plate ware from Japan, and so much more. We hope this will be the first of many Aburi To-Go locations to come.”
This authentic Japanese shop will officially open on Wednesday, May 26 but you can also shop online for curbside pick-up or delivery via UberEats in the coming weeks. So, what are you waiting for? Get your grocery on!
