The Power of The Dog
Here are the top locations wherein the 50 days of filming took place:
Home Hills, Oturehua | Central Otago
The vast plains and sturdy mountains provided for a striking backdrop to resemble rural Montana, US. One of the best ways to check out the Central Otago route is by cycling, which will include the entire landscape as depicted in the movie.
Braeside Station, Oturehua
The 5500ha sheep and cattle farm was used to provide the feel of a Western-style atmosphere. It lent a feeling of authenticity, even leading to the building of an entirely new homestead, and cowboy quarters.
Manuherekia River, Galloway
This is also situated in New Zealand’s South Island. You can go across the river using the Manuherikia Bridge No.1, and a stone pier bridge.
Dunedin Railway Station
It’s renowned as one of the most notable architectural landmarks in the city. The interiors themselves are something truly grand, with ornate embellishments. Oh, and it even has an art gallery inside. So if you find yourself in South Island, you can’t miss out on this destination.
Queenstown Hill
If you’re looking for picturesque views that look like they came right out of the desktop, then this is the place. You can enjoy it the best with Queenstown Hill Time Walk, which is nearly a 500-metre climb to the mountain summit.
