Calling all seafood enthusiasts! Whether through dine-in or takeout, the chance is coming up next month to sample delectable seafood dishes from restaurants across Canada. That’s right, we’re talking about the National Ocean Wise Seafood Festival. It will be running from February 1 – 28, and there are numerous participating restaurants.

National Ocean Wise Seafood Festival
Hosted by Ocean Wise partners, the fundraising event was started to raise awareness about sustainable seafood practices. Proceeds from the festival will also be donated to the Ocean Wise Seafood programme. One of the most pressing issues faced in the industry is overfishing. This not only impacts the overall food chain but people’s lifestyles as well. And that’s why initiatives like these are crucial for marine protection.
You can find participating restaurants at British Columbia (Vancouver, Victoria, Prince Rupert), Ontario (Toronto) and Québec (Montreal). Some of these include Holts Cafe, Fresh City Farms, ShuckShuck, and more. Check out the website here for the full list.
