Luxury resorts have it all from helpful concierges, beautiful sceneries, top-notch spa services and more. However now, they’re stepping it up and now offering on-site COVID-19 testing for those needing one to enter their home country.
This is all in response to the requirement of negative COVID-19 PCR tests for all guests travelling to the US, Canada, and any other countries. Puerto Vallarta’s Villa Premiere Boutique Hotel & Romantic Getaway even has an agreement with a certified laboratory, SANLOR Laboratorio, to make this new process as smooth as possible for all guests. The COVID-19 test appointment can be made through the hotel’s concierge and will take place in a private location at the property. Or it can be done at one of the four laboratory locations. A special price for the PCR test of $3,000 pesos (about $192 CAD) per test includes taxes.
It’s also just been announced that Palace Resorts and Le Blanc Spa Resorts will now offer free COVID-19 at all of its resorts throughout Mexico and Jamaica. The tests are completely free for up to two guests per room travelling to the United States. If a guest is required to take a PCR test, the resort can help facilitate it through the concierge but there are additional fees.
Should a guest test positive, the Palace Resorts and Le Blanc Spa Resorts will cover the cost of quarantine for up to 14 days at no cost to the guest, this allows up to two guests per room should both guests test positive. Now that’s what we call excellent customer service and support.
We can’t help but wonder how many other resorts around the world will adopt this practice. While countries like the US and Canada now require negative tests to be admitted back into the country, it’s obvious that some guests might want the peace of mind that comes with a vacation, and these days, a negative test.
It’s also no secret that travellers and airline personnel have been flummoxed by the new rules surrounding travelling during the pandemic. Some travellers have said that they have no idea where to get a test while abroad and some worry that the results won’t be back in time, especially if they’re coming from a faraway destination. All we can say is that only time will tell how we all get on with this new normal that keeps evolving and changing every single day.
