If you’re a traditionalist or a creature of habit, then as soon as fall hits, you’re off to your big box store and buying mums (Chrysanthemums) to plant in your holiday planter. As much as I love tradition, I strongly feel that we can shake things up a bit!
So, put down your pumpkin spice latte and hear me out!

Decorating for Autumn
You don’t have to go overboard with decorating; little goes a long way. Instead of orange and red leaf garlands around your fireplace, opt for a budvase with a few fresh branches of winter berries.
On your night stand, do the same thing. Remember, things placed at eyelevel will resonate differently with you.
Support local, buy local. Go see your florist down the street and help small businesses, especially in a time like the present! You won’t be breaking the bank and who knows, maybe you’ll be keeping someone afloat – A FALL WIN!!
For those traditionalists out there (and I too can be a creature of habit), if you can’t say goodbye to your fall gourds, then do it with a twist. Nix the orange and paint them white, black, GOLD. Literally, any other colour, it’s a subtle change and we’ll break you in slowly.
The biggest takeaway from all of this is to have fun, don’t overdo it, support your local small businesses and capture the essence of fall. OKAY, you can resume drinking your latte now!
