The museum scene in Montréal is certainly a vibrant one. From history to art and nature and science, there’s plenty of options to explore. And Espace pour la vie (Space for Life), a natural sciences museum complex, is one of them. It offers four different experiences, one of which is the Montréal Insectarium. Although the space had been closed to the public for a while now, they will be reopening starting April 13.

Montréal Insectarium
Like the name suggestions, the museum is dedicated to showcasing a variety of insect species. It closed in 2019 to undergo renovations and now the area has been revamped. The new look was designed by the Kuehn Malvezzi firm in Germany and Pelletier de Fontenay in Canada. But it’s not just the design that’s been given a makeover.
Visitors will be able to enjoy the presence of thousands of butterflies, along with the many varying range of insects. The butterflies will roam around freely in a live and naturalized environment, in line with the new approach of the museum. The other insects are also allowed free movement to fly along with the butterflies.
The immersive journey enables visitors to experience the Insectarium in a never-before-seen-way. The museum is opening its doors on April 13 and tickets can be purchased online now. They’re priced at $22 per adult for those visiting from outside Québec while its $16 per adult for residents.
