It’s no secret that Vancouver’s dining scene is bright and buzzing. New concepts, unique food, special flavours, it’s all there. And it seems like the vegan culinary space is expanding as well, as can be seen with Nightshade. The plant-based restaurant in Vancouver is one of the latest additions, having opened its doors last month.

Nightshade
Rather than highlighting one particular cuisine, the restaurant aims to bring in global flavours onto their menus. They’re completely local and seasonal, depending on the rotating availability of ingredients for their creations. Nightshade also features a stunning selection of beverages, with cocktails, wines, coffee and more.
As for the food, there’s three separate menus, one each for lunch, mid-day snacks (interlude) and dinner. There are various items to sample like Grilled Mushroom on Toast, Cauliflower Pakora, Agnolotti, and others. There’s also gluten-free sushi with ingredients like roasted eggplant, kimchi, and avocado. For lunch, you’ve also got Cardamom Curry, and Mushroom Carbonara.
Finally, end your meal on a sweet note with one of their three desserts. The plant-based restaurant in Vancouver is located at 1079 Mainland Street, Yaletown. They’re open Wednesday to Sunday from 11:30am and reservations can be made online here.
