Happy National Margarita Day! Limes are the main ingredient in margaritas, not only are they used to make the drink itself but they’re also used as a garnish. If you want to enjoy something other than a classic margarita we’ve gathered five margarita recipes for you to try. Whether you like a spicy margarita or something sweet you’ll surely be able to find a recipe below that will satisfy your taste buds.
Patrón Classic Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Patrón Silver
- 1 oz Orange Liqueur
- 0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 0.25 oz Simple Syrup
- Lime Wedge for Garnish
- Kosher Salt (optional)
How to make the Patrón Classic Margarita :
- Combine liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice to chill.
- Strain onto fresh ice in a rocks glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
- Optionally, salt half the rim of the glass with kosher salt.
Spicy Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Patrón Silver infused with jalapeño*
- 0.5 oz Flavour Puree (blood orange, mango or fresh beet)
- 3 oz Lime Juice
- Salt Rim (optional)
- Lime Wedge and Sliced Jalapeño for Garnish (optional)
Hot to make this Spicy Margarita:
- Combine all ingredients over ice in a shaker.
- Shake and strain into a salt-rimmed double old-fashioned glass.
- *Patrón Silver infused with jalapeño:
- Add 2 whole jalapeños cut down the middle and deseeded into 1 bottle of Patrón Silver.
- Let rest for 12 hours.
Pineapple Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Patrón Silver
- .5 oz Orange Liqueur
- 1 oz Pineapple juice
- .5 oz Lime juice
- +Tajín rim
- +Lime wedge for garnish
How to make this Pineapple Margarita
- Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
- Shake until combined and chilled.
- Strain into a Tajín-rimmed rocks glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a lime wedge.
Pomegranate Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Patrón Silver
- 1 oz Orange Liqueur
- .75 oz Fresh lime juice
- .5 oz Pomegranate juice
- 1 bar spoon Simple Syrup
- +Salt rim
- +Lime wheel for garnish
- +Spoonful of pomegranate seeds for garnish
How to make this Pomegranate Margarita:
- Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill.
- Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
- Garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel placed directly into the glass.
The Grand Margarita
Ingredients
- 1 oz | Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge
- 1.5 oz | Espolon Tequila
- 0.75 oz | freshly squeezed lime juice
- 0.5 oz Agave Nectar or Simple Syrup (Optional)
- Ice cubes
- Lime garnish
How to make The Grand Margarita
- Fill a wide, shallow dish with 2-3 mm of fine salt.
- Cut a lime in half at the width and rub around half of the rim of a margarita glass.
- Cut a thin, crosswise slice from one of the lime halves for garnish.
- Holding the glass upside down, dip the wet half delicately into the salt.
- Shake Grand Marnier®, Espolon Tequila and lime juice with ice in a cocktail shaker.
- Strain into a glass and apply lime garnish to the rim.
