Canada will be easing travel restrictions from February 28 onwards, given the decline in COVID-19 case numbers. The biggest change is that fully vaccinated travellers entering the country can now opt for an antigen test, instead of the currently mandated PCR tests. Not only are the antigen ones more affordable, but it takes a shorter time to get results as well, making it convenient for travel.

Updated Travel Restrictions In Canada
At present, all travellers are required to present a negative PCR test 72 hours advance. But from end of the month, antigen tests are also going to be accepted. This will have to be done 24 hours before the flight to Canada departs. Travellers can also expect the random testing protocol to take place.

In addition, those who have undergone the random testing won’t have to self-isolate or quarantine while waiting for results to arrive. The advisory for Canadians who wish to travel abroad have also received an update. The recommendation against non-essential travel has been taken out and officials are only recommending citizens be cautious.
The regulations for unvaccinated travellers on the other hand, remain the same. Mandatory testing upon arrival, along with quarantine will continue to be in effect. And a negative PCR test will have to be shown as well.
